Previously we noted in a June 2010 blog post that Warren Redlich is being sued by another Libertarian for fraud. The lawsuit centers around the way Warren Redlich and his campaign manager obtained the Libertarian nomination for Governor. The lawsuit was brought in the NY Supreme Court in Manhattan.
It appears that Warren Redlich has asked the court to transfer the case to Albany. He claims that it is inconvenient for him to appear in Manhattan. Of course, the petitioner is from the New York City area, and Warren Redlich doesn't seem to care about inconveniencing him. The Petitioner, Sam Sloan, in his opposing papers states: "Although Warren Redlich is a notorious character in Albany, we did not know him down here. He cleverly evaded any chances to ask him questions about his platform or his background. Some Libertarians were even eluded into the belief that he is a Libertarian."

Another interesting contention from the lawsuit is that the state Libertarian Committee suspended the membership of a Libertarian member from Queens because he spoke against Warren Redlich. As a result, it is claimed that three of the statewide candidates have distanced themselves from Warren Redlich. The Libertarian Party is supposed to be the party of individual freedoms and they suspend a member for exercising his right to free speech against a non-member? Sounds pretty hypocritical. In any event, it sounds like Warren Redlich is turning the Libertarian Party into a circus like he has tried to do to the Guilderland town board.
The petitioner, Sam Sloan, states in his affidavit: "Warren Redlich has run or tried to run for election many times under different parties and consistently has performed the same plethora of dirty tricks as he has done here. This is his modus operandi. He is fundamentally dishonest. He is a bad person, an evil man. Therefore, I am asking this court to enjoin him from running for public office again."

Update: Sam Sloan has formed a committee to challenge Warren Redlich on the Libertarian Party line. Apparently he is circulating a petition similar to Redlich's except it lists "Sam Sloan" as the gubernatorial candidate. For more information, read: Sam Sloan for Libertarian Governor

Warren Redlich sued for Fraud
Warren Redlich has apparently been sued by Libertarian Sam Sloan for fraud. Sam Sloan also sought the Libertarian endorsement for Governor. The lawsuit involves the manner in which Warren Redlich obtained the Libertarian nomination for Governor. At first, one has to wonder why anyone would care as the Libertarian Party is not an official party in New York, so anyone can circulate petitions to get on the ballot. What really is at stake here though is $35,000 the National Libertarian Party has given to the local Libertarians to get their candidate on the ballot. If Warren Redlich did fraudulently get the local endorsement, he gains access to the $35,000 donation of the National Libertarian Party.
Sam Sloan in his lawsuit has this to say about Warren Redlich:
"Warren Redlich has committed fraud on the members of the New York Libertarian Party and thereby on the voters of New York State by concealing facts about himself... Everything about Warren Redlich is slimy. He is basically a bad guy. There is nothing honest, upstanding or reputable about Warren Redlich. He campaigns for office by impersonating his opponents thereby discrediting them. He has brought discredit and disrepute to the New York State and the National Libertarian parties." Paladino campaign calls Warren Redlich an Internet troll
Warren Redlich attacked Carl Paladino last week by posting a negative video about Paladino's campaign contributions. The video elicited a response from Carl Paladino's campaign manager, Michael Caputo who had this to say about Warren Redlich:
"Most every election has crackpot, also-ran candidates and the New York Governor race is no exception. Some never campaign and spend their time at home, rarely getting out of their pajamas, trolling the Internet and producing inaccurate and inflammatory content just to stir up the mix. Carl addressed this issue in local and statewide media reports three months ago, before he even entered this race. It isn't news."

Warren Redlich has been heavily involved in the Internet registering the names of over a half dozen people and posting negative websites about them. His latest victim is Carl Paladino. This, of course, is a form of trolling. Also, Warren Redlich registers on hundreds of blogs, posting negative comments about others and linking to his negative websites in order to have search engines such as google give his websites a higher rating priority.

Ted Danz for Congress?
This week we heard that Ted Danz is running for Congress against Paul Tonko.
Ted Danz claims he is qualified because he is a small business man who is not a political "insider" and has been involved in the community. One has to wonder about the accuracy of some of his statements.
Ted Danz is the Chairman of the Guilderland Republican Committee. He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Albany County Republican Committee. He has been a vehement supporter of Mark Grimm and Warren Redlich, often writing rather nasty letters to the local newspaper in support of their negativity. In fact, Ted Danz wrote a letter to the local newspaper supporting Warren Redlich's cyberstalking activity. Several other individuals were seeking the Republican nomination for Congress. They were not given an interview due to Ted Danz insider status. While one can agree that he is really the figurehead of the Guilderland Republican Party taking orders and direction from Mark Grimm and Warren Redlich, from anyone's perspective he would still qualify as a political insider.
Ted Danz also claims to be involved in the community. About three years ago, Ted Danz ran for the Albany County Legislature from Altamont. When he was a candidate for that office, he was rarely seen at community events. Since he lost that race, he has not been seen at any community events. He has not participated in the Altamont Memorial Day Parade, Altamont Library Fundraisers or other events in support of the Altamont or Guilderland community. On the other hand, his opponent, Paul Tonko, is a frequent visitor to Guilderland and Altamont events. How can Ted Danz know the concerns of our community if he fails to attend community events?
Keep in mind this is the political season. A lot of candidates will have interesting soundbites to confuse the voters. The facts, however, are often not close to reality. It is always easier to attack rather than discuss what the candidate will actually do for their constituents. Ted Danz is noted for being long on rhetoric and short on substance. In this regard, Ted Danz is no different from the two town board members he so vehemently supports, Mark Grimm and Warren Redlich.

Please consider returning Paul Tonko to Congress. While one might not always agree with some of his views, Paul Tonko has been honest about his qualifications and ideas, has been involved in our community and has worked hard for our residents in Congress.

Guilderland Cyberstalker, Warren Redlich, takes another name
Warren Redlich has continued in his entrepreneurial pursuits of taking the identities of others on the Internet. Warren Redlich has created a new website in the name of Carl Paladino, Republican and Tea Party candidate for Governor. Warren Redlich uses the website named "Carl Paladino" as a means of posting negative and defamatory material about Mr. Paladino.
This is the seventh victim of Warren Redlich's cyberstalking business. Besides Paladino, Warren Redlich has defamatory websites about Andrew Cuomo and Rich Lazio, his other opponents for Governor.

How Warren Redlich and his Campaign Manager "fixed" the Libertarian Nomination
There is an interesting post by Sam Sloan, a long time member of the Libertarian Party, who describes how Warren Redlich and his campaign manager secretly "fixed" the Libertarian nomination for Governor.
Sam Sloan describes how Warren Redlich and his campaign manager secretly contacted party "insiders" and solicited members of the party from a list which was not made available to other candidates. Sam Sloan indicates that Warren Redlich did not pay the fee to join the Libertarian Party until minutes before he was nominated for Governor. Apparently under the Libertarian rules, you must join by paying a fee in order to be endorsed for a public office. But to be a member of the Libertarian Party for purposes of the nomination convention, you had to join and pay the fee by December 31, 2009. Clearly, Warren Redlich didn't meet this requirement, so it sounds like some "insider" maneuvering took place to give Warren Redlich the endorsement.
This is interesting reading as it describes the hypocrisy of Warren Redlich and the "behind close doors" nominating process he pursued to win the Libertarian line for Governor. This coming from someone who claims not to be an "insider", not to like "insiders" and who claims he only engages in "open and transparent" government processes.
